The public is invited to greet BAM’s Council of Elders, Pamodzi Dance Troupe from Zambia and Chuck Davis at the annual Community Opening of DanceAfrica, taking place at the Weeksville Heritage Center. The celebration then continues at Bedford Stuyvesant Restoration Plaza for their 14th Annual DanceAfrica Pre-Opening Celebration.

Presented by Brooklyn Academy of Music in partnership with Weeksville Heritage Center and Bedford Stuyvesant Restoration Corporation. Documentation support from BAC.

About Harlem Pride...

Our Mission
The mission of Harlem Pride is to promote Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Same Gender Loving pride in Harlem and to provide opportunities for networking and communication among its LGBT & SGL organizations and community members.

Our Scope & Vision

The scope and vision of Harlem Pride is that it will be an annual festival event held in the "Harlem Gayborhood". The inaugural event of Harlem Pride 2010, will be the quintessential block party on W. 119th street between Lenox and Fifth Avenues. Each year we expect the event to expand and become the essential vehicle for Harlem residents to celebrate their LGBT & SGL communities and pride.
