When a band of HIV-positive African American drag queens have had enough of patronizing activists and politicians, they launch an underground terror campaign to fight for justice. Writer-director Stephen Winter's scathingly funny and tender feature debut hits like a hand grenade, demolishing independent film conventions as thoroughly as the political marginalization and complacency that are its main targets.

  2. Hey Greg,

I totally agree with you. Being that I reside in New York City, I'd like to see a screening here as well.

My former lover has an original pre-recorded VHS tape of Chocolate Babies that he showed me years ago (his favorite film) and that was the only time I saw the film.

Also, I had a conversation with actor (and friend) Bryan Webster (who played Councilman Melvin Freeman) and he tells me writer/director Stephen Winter is trying to work on a DVD release of the film. So let's really hope that happens as well.

Thanks for stopping by Nubian Knights Network, Greg.
